Vasavi College of Engineering is established in the year 1981 by the Vasavi Academy of Education under the stewardship of Late Sri Pendekanti Venkata Subbaiah, a veteran statesman of independent India and by a few eminent people from different walks of life. Vasavi College of Engineering represents a rich tradition of excellence in technology-based education in a stimulating environment and is approved by AICTE & affiliated to Osmania University, Hyderabad. Institute is accredited with A++ grade by NAAC in 2021. In its four decades of existence, it has now grown with excellent and well-developed infrastructural facilities, offering 7 undergraduate programs, viz., B.E. in Civil, CSE, EEE, ECE, Mech., IT & CSE (AI&ML) and four Postgraduate Programmes in CSE, MECH, EEE and ECE. The institution is conferred with autonomous status by UGC in the year 2014-15 for a period of six years & further extended for 10 years up to 2030-31. All the six eligible UG programs (Civil, CSE, EEE, ECE, Mech. Engg., & IT) are re-accredited under TIER-I with NBA up to June 2027. CSE, EEE, ECE, Mech. Engg. Departments have been identified as Research Centers by the Osmania University, Hyderabad. 22 faculty of the college have been identified as Ph.D. supervisors and around 115 Ph.D. scholars are pursuing their Ph.D. under their guidance.

The college has established a high-speed campus-wide network that connects all its departments consisting of 1768 systems. A fully distributed computing environment based on clusters of workstations and PCs provides the staff and students ready access to computing resources, services software and applications. The environment is tailored to the specific teaching/learning needs of each department.

The college has Internet facility with two leased lines and one broadband, one from BSNL with 250 Mbps, one from Pioneer e-Labs with 400 Mbps and ACT Fiber with 1Gbps Broadband, which is used by staff and students to access various online resources. The Internet can also be accessed through Wi-Fi at various locations(Canteen, Library, Seminar Halls, Conference Halls & QEEE Hall, Placement Cell, etc.) of College campus Full access is provided.

Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was started in the year 1999 offering undergraduate programme with 23 batches already graduated and 24^th batch graduating in the year 2026. The Department has started Post graduation programme in Power Systems and Power Electronics from 2012-2013. A good number of EEE graduates seek admission to higher studies abroad and also in IITs, NITs and IIMs. The department is involved in various ongoing research and consultancy projects. The Department has well equipped laboratories, and well qualified, dedicated, experienced and trained faculty with a deep sense of commitment towards the students and the college
